Beautiful writing here! I'm so glad you're writing about this - writing and spelling these names and words and telling this history. Many of the names and words are unfamiliar to me, but they shouldn't be! Thank you for this, Jill!

Thank you again, Jill, for the wonderful historical and cultural insights. I remember how huge a deal the state high school hockey tournament was, when I was that age. Bigger than the World Series. I’m sure it’s even more so these days. And it all started in Warroad.

I learn so much from your posts. I’ll definitely watch the documentary.

Thanks Mary. I'm not much of a sports fan, but the enthusiasm is contagious and the community comes together in support of youth hockey that is exceptional today.

I'm looking forward to seeing The Electric Indian on Twin Cities Public TV on March 26, too.

Great history and ties to present day events. I appreciate the multifaceted layers of stories on indigenous history, Boucha’s athletic and personal stories, Warroad’s name speculation and more. Thank you Jill! And for endorsing women’s hockey. I’ve got a family connection to a player!
